Accommodations
For those who need accommodations, the Early Modern Center has a block of discounted rooms reserved in the Best Western in Goleta, a short ride from campus, for $159 per night plus taxes. You can make a reservation in that block in two ways, either by using this booking link or by calling the hotel directly at (805) 967-3200 and mentioning that you will be part of the “UCSB Early Modern Center” block. The discounted rate will be available until January 28th, 2020. Included in the price of the room is a hot breakfast buffet served daily, Wi-Fi, a pool and fitness center, and complimentary shuttle service starting at 7:30am and ending at 10pm, leaving the hotel every half hour upon request to the Santa Barbara Airport, Goleta Amtrak, and Goleta Airbus. We will be organizing a few shuttle trips to and from the UCSB campus for those who would like that option.
Conference Location
The conference will be held in Alumni Hall in Mosher Alumni House. Here is a UCSB Campus Map. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about directions to other locations on campus and around Goleta and Santa Barbara at large.
Conference Dinner
A conference dinner will be held at 5:45pm on Friday, February 28th at Opal for EMC conference speakers, panelists, and EMC faculty and grads. We will be providing carpools to and from the conference dinner for EMC conference speakers, panelists, and EMC faculty and grads.
